The main focus of KIHU's sport pedagogy is on the development and impact assessment of teaching, analysis, observation and feedback methods of individual skills and game performances.
Research in sport pedagogy utilizes the measuring instruments and assessment methods of KIHU's areas of expertise in a variety of ways, both in analysing individual skills performance and game performance. The most common methods have been game analysis software (football, volleyball, badminton, and tennis), different feedback and video editing systems (shooting, skiing, and ball games), motion analysis systems, and both general and sport-specific observation and psychomotor tests.
Within sport pedagogy KIHU has cooperated mainly with the representatives of ball games and precision sports. In our joint projects, we have developed training methods as well as feedback, analysis and test systems for the aforementioned sports. Our major partners have been the Football Association of Finland, the Finnish Shooting Sport Federation, the Finnish Volleyball Association, Badminton Finland, the Finnish Defence Forces, and local sports associations.
